2022 Tax Year Filing Timeline
- January 16: Virtual Pro Tax Preparation begins accepting quote requests.
- January 23: IRS opens 2023 tax season; starts accepting and processing individual 2022 tax returns.
- January 27: Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day.
- April 18: Due date to file a 2022 tax return OR to request an extension and pay tax owed. (Note: This date is April 19th for MA and ME residents.)
- October 16: Due date to file for those who requested an extension on their 2022 tax return.
